Artwork
Ever since I can remember, I’ve had the obsession to express myself through visual art. As I’ve grown, so have my interests towards many artistic styles. They range from still life, to expressionism, to fantasy, to the abstract, to landscape. I’m always open to exploring and experimenting with each art project, wondering what I can come up with next. It’s always a surprise, and you can never fully predict what the end result will be.

Here is a drawing I made of a cityscape in Jerusalem during my 6 month film internship in Israel. I used both colored and graphite pencil to produce this work. The inspiration came from a one of the many neighborhoods seen from hillside views. During my time in Israel, I wanted to convey the surreal and expressionistic landscape that I encountered around nearly every corner.
THE PROMISED LAND
At first I didn’t know what to make fo this one. But I am proud of hte end result. This is just a small doodle I made that is meant to capture the liveliness of a random town in Italy. The medium I used was colored pencil on standard paper.
CARNIVAL TOWN
Here we have a drawing based on what I saw and experienced during my time in various cities in Israel, particularly Tzfat. I love the zig zag roads and nicely crammed buildings perched on a hillside, giving the town a rather whimsical, storybook quality. The medium I used was graphite on standard paper.
TZFAT ALLEYWAY
This is a design I made for a character in my novel “Anthromalia.” His name is Episko Doulus (Or Uncle Epi as the humans call him). He is a yellow parrot that has tasked himself with helping hide and rescue humans from the grip of the Aviacht forces. The medium I used is colored pencil and graphite on standard paper.
Episko (From Antrhomalia)
Believe it or not, this self-portrait was made using “Found Medium.” Rather than using standard artist materials from an art shop, I melted skittles for my palette, and used ink for the hair.
Conflictual Sanity
This is cover art I designed for my novel, Anthromalia. It depicts a human in fetal position, encased in a symbolic leaf, amongst a forestry texture, representing the synchronization of natural and man made structures in this new and fascinating world I created. The medium I used was both Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. I was mostly inspired by images of nature and models in feral poses. I want the cover to capture the reader's imagination, being intrigued by the integration of nature and human life.
ANTHROMALIA COVER ART
This is a drawing I made based upon a design for Igor Stravinsky’s ballet The Rite of Spring. The medium I used included both artist and colored pencils on paper. I got the inspiration from various images of people and their bodies painted in a single monochromatic color. When I listen to Stravinsky’s work, it’s so ahead of its time, close to a cinematic level, yet simple in its style. What a delight it would be to put up a ballet like this. The music sounds captivating, and previous productions have looked astounding.
Rite of Spring Dance
This is a landscape drawing, and possible illustration, I made that displays a hybrid of a building and various plants. It is from a fictional world I created in my novel ANTHROMALIA. In the story, humans and animals share the same level of intelligence. As a result, nature and technology have intertwined, becoming a symbiotic ecosystem of various habitats and cities. The picture was made using an artist pencil as well as charcoal and a blue filter on my iPhoto application. The inspiration for this image was from both a digital image from a Dungeons and Dragons handbook, as well as scenes from FernGully.
Plant/Building Hybrid (From Amthromalia)
This is an abstract drawing I made using my favorite style of visual art: German Expressionism. Here I used my artist pencil on a piece of sketch paper. The inspiration was mostly from old 30’s posters, as well as Fritz Lang’s 1927 masterpiece, Metropolis. When I implement German Expressionism into my drawings, I like to convey a wild and free, yet organized and industrious feel to the eye.
Cityscape 4
As I put together a pitch for a show called EFIL, it reminds me of sustainability. This circus styled show deals with our ever precious world and this costume design is for a character named IKOL, a shaman who represents discord and mischief. He lurks in our world and strikes without warning.
IKOL
This is an abstract image I drew that conveys a garden in the Sedona deserts of Arizona. The medium I used was Oil Pastel on a sheet of canvas paper. I was partially inspired by images of Hispanic artwork I found while fumbling through old magazine ads. The feeling I want to convey is the happiness and joy one can find in Nature’s colors in this world.
SEDONA PARADISE
This one took me about a week or two to complete. It’s a collage of faces I drew based on images of Elvis fans. After seeing the film, I really wanted to capture the moment of the audience reactions. The medium was graphite on a large canvas.
Elivs Fans
This is an initial sketch of Photios, who is a character from my novel, Anthromalia. He is a German shepherd and war veteran of this timeline’s WWII. In the story, he leads a squadron of dogs, cats and rodents, whose assignment is to infiltrate enemy lines of the Aviacht Forces and rescue captive humans. I used the standard pencil on paper to make this image. The inspiration mostly came from images of cartoon dogs I found online with a firm body build. The impact I’m looking for is one of heroism and bravery, as Photios is determined to save human captives at any cost.
PHOTIOS
Here is a drawing of a humanized Skeksis from the world of The Dark Crystal (Preferably the Miniseries Age Of Resistance). This was a fun and challenging piece. The medium I used was standardized pencil on sketch paper. The inspiration came from various fan art where artists drew humanized version of various characters from film/tv. I wanted to convey a rather old sage style to this particular Skeksis. His name in the series is SkekOk (The Scrollkeeper)
SKEKSIS HUMANIZED (SkekOk)
This was a particularly interesting piece. I drew it inside my little sketchbook based on images of closeups of leaves. I was really impressed with how it turned out. The medium is graphite on sketchbook paper.
Autumn Leaves
Here we have an image based on the Chuck Jones short: “Duck Dodgers In The 24th 1/2 Century,” which was fun to do. The medium is colored pencil on standard paper
Duck Dodgers Backgrong
Here is another humanized version of a Skeksis from The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. The name of this character is SkekGra (The Conquerer/Heretic). I’m glad they decided to add a good Skeksis in the mix, which made the story less black and white. For this character, I decided to give him the look of an old, crazy, yet trustworthy man. Sort of like Rafiki from The Lion King. The medium that I used was Graphite on Standard Paper.
Skeksis Humanized (Skekgra)
Here is another humanized version of a Skeksis from The Dark Crystal. When I was young, I was very traumatized by these creatures. But now, i am fascinated by their detail, especially in the Netflix series, The Age Of Resistance. In this one, my goal was to convey the style of a biship or ordained priest of some sort. The medium I used was graphite on standard paper. His name in the series is SkekZok (The Ritual Master)
Skeksis Humanized (SkekZok)
This is based on a few background designs used in the work of Chuck Jones, preferably his 1970 film - “The PhantomTollbooth.” I always love to try to recreate the style and tone of his settings. While they are simplistic, they are also beautiful at the same time. The medium I used was colored pencil on standard paper.
Chuck jones style mountainside
Here is an image based on my own personal experiences. here are times when my head is so bombarded with bad thoughts that I feel like I have to solve them so they can go way for the day. When I finally finish them, I am exhausted and burned out. As if a chuck of my head had been blown off. I recover though, but I still feel a little drained. The Medium is White colored pencil on black paper.
My Head Post - Negative Thoughts
Here is a piece of fan art I made of the character Mr. Centipede from “James and the Giant Peach.” I primarily used colored pencils on sketch paper to make this character study. I was inspired simply by close up faces of various characters in the film and wanted to achieve the same look. Personally, my goal was to aim for a portrait style image, like a family photo from long ago.
Mr. CENTIPEDE
Here is another expressionist drawing I made based on a modern architectural building I saw during my stay in Israel. I have always loved to draw visuals that appear unique within their confines, especially when it comes to landscapes. I used a graphite pencil on standard artist paper to bring this image to life. The feeling I want to give the viewer is a sense of wonder and curiosity for this mad piece of architecture.
a moving castle
Conductor
An image i did based on imaged of an orchestral conductor. I really love the movements they make with their batons. The medium was graphit
INKED SKETCH ON BIRCHWOOD BARK
In this piece I wanted to go more natural with my source material. The medium I used was, as the title suggests, pen on birchwood BARK.
This is another example of my fascination with German Expressionism. I really love to build landscapes and settings that are more fantastical and whimsical in their execution. Sometimes I just love to take pieces from different locations and pictures, meld them together and see what comes out of it. Like a drawn collage. The image was made using charcoal and standard and pencil on a sketchpad.
town square
This was a landscape drawing I made based on the movie “A Muppet Christmas Carol.” The look and feel of the movie intrigued me with it’s expressionist set design and off kilter architecture, which are things I really gravitate towards. The medium I used was standard pencil on sketch paper.
London (From A Muppet Christmas Carol)
Lately, I’ve been into furry art: Art that involves anthropomorphic characters: Robin Hood, Zootopia etc. This picture is a bit of a combination between E.T. and the Sistine Chapel. The medium I used was standard pencil on sketch paper.
Touch
This was a fun and experimental piece I worked on. Basically I watched this series of videos on Disney+ called “Zenimation,” in which they showed beautiful and serene images from various Disney animated movies. I paused the videos periodically and drew something that caught my eye, putting them all together and making my own world. Basically it was a collage of things I saw in each video placed in a single drawn image, with the result being one of chance. The medium I used was graphite and colored pencil on thick drawing paper.
floating garden
Here is another large canvas drawing I drew based on a few 1920’s mural paintings I’ve been observing. The medium is colored pencil on canvas paper.
Surreal Garden
This is a rather peculiar picture I drew involving multiple inspirations. See, a lot of times I do this drawing exercise where I choose pieces from random pictures and splice them together to make it a work of my own. This one involved a drawing of Alice from Alice in Wonderland, the interior of a dance studio, an old timey radio that was in a thrift shop, and a random duffle bag I found lying on the floor. The medium I used was graphite on standard paper.
Untitled (Experiment)
Dictionopolis (From Phantom Tollbooth)
This is another abstract sketch I made. This time, using feathers as my source of inspiration. It was fun to do and really challenged me when it came to pattern design. The medium I used was colored pencil on standard paper
FEATHER DECOR
Here is a rather delightful piece of work I recently did. This time based on Dr. Seuss illustrations. His work is simple yet complex at the same time. That is one of the reasons I enjoy being inspired by his world. The medium I used was graphite and colored pencil on standard paper.
SEUSSIAN LANDSCAPE
Here’s a rather interesting piece I made out of pure chance. It’s basically a set of circles with different shapes and patterns inside made to to look like gears and cogs. The Medium I used was Blue pen on standard drawing paper
SURREAL GEARS
Lately, I’ve been drawing images based on the film “The Phantom Tollbooth.” It is a delightful animated piece of work from the cartoon genius of Chuck Jones. He really has become an inspiration when it comes to the expression and abstract. The medium I used was graphite and colored pencil on standard printing paper
Here is a practice I did on animated character design. I used the base body work of Shere Kahn from TheJungle Book, added a few additional touches such as bushy eyebrows, a less defined jaw and spots instead of stripes. Personally, I like how it turned out. The medium I used was graphite on standard paper.
Jaguar
This was another doodle I did out of sheer luck and chance It’s basically a study in human movement. The medium I used was Charcoal on standard printing paper
Prancing Figures
Here is a design for one of my characters in the novel Anthromalia. His name is Aaayuk. His species is that of a sea lion and he is a n investor in various human made inventions. His personality is very disgruntled and short tempered, and does not like to made a fool out of. The medium I used is graphite on standard paper
AAYUK
This is another design for one of my characters in my novel Anthromalia. His name is Acteo, a large Roe Deer that is the leader of the north Appalachian forests. His personality is stoic yet serious towards humans. The medium I used is graphite on Standard Paper
ACTEO
Burtonesque Hallway
Here we have a design based on one of my heroes: Tim Burton. The Medium was pencil on standard paper.
Here we have another instance of inspiration from one of Chuck Jones works: “The Phantom Tollbooth.” I really like the color scheme that he used and wanted to recreate that with this drawing. Here I used colored pencil on Standard Paper
Vials and Bottles
This is a recreation of a film still from the 1922 classic: “Nosferatu the Vampire.” I really enjoy watching this film, as it is an excellent example of German Expressionism at it’s finest. The medium was Charcoal on Large Easel paper.
Nosferatu the vampire
This is a character design for a cartoon I’m working on called “Rowlf” which is basically about a kid who has the ability to turn into a dog. When I describe his personality, he’s a little mischievous, but he always has his heart in the right place. When he’s a human, he’s a wide eyed, curious kid. When he’s a dog, he’s a playful, adorable puppy. In short: “He’s a GOOD BOY!” The medium was pencil on standard paper
Rowlf as a boy and puppy
MERMAID DESIGNS
Working more on my character design studies. Lately, I’ve been having a blast drawing merfolk. Don’t know why. They’re just easy to draw for me. Medium is charcoal on standard paper.
Rip Van winkle
This picture came out organically for me. It started off as a recreation of a cover art for the classic short story: Rip Van Winkle. Then, I just randomly drew futuristic machinery around the subject. I think it turned out very well as it seems to play with the theme of waking up in a different time and place where everything is different and new. The medium was charcoal on standard paper.
duchess (from The Aristocats)
I think this is one of the most detailed portraits I did. I feel rather impressed by the end result. The medium is pencil on standard paper.
