Writing

For many years, I’ve had a love for creating stories. Whether that be simple tales with relatable characters, or journeys into fantastical worlds told from multiple viewpoints. Whenever I discover a subject lacking representation, I feel the urge to fill that void with something never done before. There are many genres I like to explore, from silly comedies and thought provoking dramas, to mystery driven science fiction. The possibilities are endless when it comes to my writing.

Anthromalia (Book 1: Memories)

Anthromalia - a place, an idea, a longing and a fight for freedom, peace, and harmony where humans and evolutionarily developed animal species can live alongside each other without fear and war. Without a distinct protagonist, we are taken on an exploration of the complexities of war, love, family heartbreak and above all else - loyalty. Loyalty takes these characters above and beyond what they thought possible, fighting for, or against the de-evolved human species. Many animals see the kindness, the complexity, and the love that humans are capable of, but others despise their history and the way that humans treated animals for millennia. Written through excerpts, memories, letters and recollections, this story provides a complex insight into another reality at a point in time where everything is at stake.

IN: A LOOK INTO THE WORLD OF AUTISM

This is an experimental play I wrote that showcases the highs and lows of living on the autism spectrum. It was a heartwarming and collaborative project that opened up people’s eyes and hearts to what it means to have this neurological condition and how people like us are of benefit to this world. I was fortunate to have the world premiere of this work at the Mondanaro Theater at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

The WORLD PREMIERe PERFORMANCE

This is a recording of my play ‘IN’ (see script above) which had its world premier at the Mondanaro Theater at the Savannah College of Art and Design. The show is an experimental piece, combining acting, dance, music and sound, that explores both my triumphs and struggles in living on the spectrum. During the performance, we were able to raise over $3000 in Autism education. One of the highlights for me personally was the collaborative process I underwent with the actors, directors, choreographers, and designers. Opening night was a moment I will never forget.

Rowlf (Script for Animated Short)

This is a script I wrote for an animated shot about a boy named Rowlf that turns into a dog. The story traces Rowlf’s journey with his canine friends, through trials and tribulations. I envision a traditionally styled 2D animation. One of my favorite scenes takes place in a nightclub for dogs and cats where the menu includes Homework a la Carte. In recent months, I have developed a team and we are in the process of bringing it into the storyboard phase, so along with the script, is a link to the Discord page where you can check our progress.

Analysis of Looney Tunes/Disney Film

I’m fascinated with exploring, critiquing and analyzing different films and cartoons based on their origin, whether it be the creator, year, studio or country from which it came. This is an analysis I wrote that compares two cartoon shorts from Disney and Looney Tunes that premiered in the year 1952: RABBIT FIRE and LAMBERT THE SHEEPISH LION. It analyzes their styles, the characters, and their storytelling structures.

The Ecoptimists (Frustration)

I am working in collaboration with The Resilient Activist and ClimateKC to create a series of animated shorts focusing on alleviating people’s emotional concerns regarding climate anxiety.

What we have come up with is approximately 10 animal characters, each an endangered species, who will address a specific emotion that children may be experiencing when they confront the news about our planet and seek to be activists themselves. The first animated short features Ralia, a West Bengal Tiger. Ralia addresses the emotion of frustration (Ralia herself sometimes gets frustrated when she can’t catch her prey). Here’s an initial sketch of Ralia:

In addition We are currently in the midst of scripting and storyboarding. A link to the script on the subject of frustration can be found in the link below:

XUANZE (CHOICE)

Here is a screenplay I wrote using CeltX for a short film I’d like to produce. It concerns two sisters who have taken different paths in life. They confront each other after many years apart. The image I used to describe the script is the Chinese character Xuanxe which means choice.
